Azotes history

Azotes founders, Jerker Lokrantz and Robert Kautsky, met through a shared passion for photography and its power to convey meaningful messages. During a photography trip in West Africa, they began exploring how images could reflect the interaction between humans, nature, and society. One late summer night by a campfire in Mali, they decided to start a business. The name 'Azote' appeared when Robert opened a French dictionary—‘Azote’ means nitrogen, the element that makes up 78% of the earth’s atmosphere and is essential for all life.  

Since then, the world has changed dramatically, and we now find ourselves in the midst of a major societal transformation. Today, Azote is a full-service communications agency supporting researchers, academic institutions, civil society, and businesses in becoming active contributors to the transition needed to secure the well-being of future generations.
