Planetary Boundaries – the iconic framework

Visualization of the nine environmental processes that regulate life on our planet. Azote was tasked with helping Johan Rockström and his research team visualize research on the nine planetary boundaries we need to stay within in order to preserve a stable and resilient planet. The work with the illustrations has been closely linked with the conceptual development and took place in close dialogue with the researchers.

SDG Wedding cake

On behalf of the Stockholm Resilience Center created Azote a new version of the global goals for sustainable development – shaped like a wedding cake. The aim was to clarify the interdependencies between the goals and to highlight the vital role of the biosphere for sustainable development.

The illustration shows that a sustainable biosphere is the basis for everything else: without responsible management of nature and the environment, we can neither build well-functioning societies nor long-term sustainable economies.

The lesson bank about the Baltic Sea

Azote has supported the development of an inspiring lesson bank about the Baltic Sea and sustainable development. The project is a collaboration with researchers and educators from Stockholm University's Baltic Sea Center and the Baltic Sea Science Center at Skansen, funded by BalticSea2020. The goal has been to provide high school and junior high school teachers with scientifically based material that inspires both them and their students.

Guide: Green messages

We have developed seven principles to avoid common pitfalls and create credible sustainability communication. Communicating sustainability in a credible and effective way has become crucial for companies that want to engage both consumers and other stakeholders. In today's increasingly aware and skeptical consumerclimate requires companies to be both clear and transparent in their messages.

A FoodJam is a workshop to explore and test different ingredients with a focus on the benefits of Swedish-grown beans, peas and lentils. The purpose of the FoodJams project is to make locally produced and climate-friendly legumes available in school meals and to ensure that the dishes are liked by the children. By providing facts and letting the participants experiment, we increase knowledge and curiosity about legumes - something that in turn rubs off on the children at school.

The 10 most important insights in climate research

Each year, a unique compilation of the most important scientific insights into the climate is published, in the form of a scientific article and a policy report.

Increased fishing of bream and id to reduce eutrophication

The Race for the Baltic foundation ran the Baltic Fish project, which aimed to get more people to eat more of the fish species bream and id. By doing so, new jobs are created and you also contribute to a better marine environment.

The Baltic Sea is heavily fertilized, which means that some fish species do not thrive at all, while others thrive. The latter applies to the fish species bream and id. Happily, these fish are really good at binding the overproduction of nutrients found in the sea.
