RE:Source – The Triangle

There has been a lack of a clear model for visualizing and communicating the connections between resource extraction, climate and biodiversity. Therefore, RE:Source, in collaboration with Cirkelar and Azote developed a visual model to explore and communicate in a way that we understand.

International Resource Panel's estimates that up to 50% of greenhouse gas emissions and up to 90% of biodiversity loss are caused by activities linked to the extraction and processing of resources give a sense of the scale of the problems.

The triangle is a tool for exploring and mapping in an engaging way how resource use, climate change and loss of biodiversity are connected. It has been used in workshops and as discussion material. It can applys on CASE and examine specific units, as well as comparing scenarios. For example, what do the relationships look like if you compare 1kg of animal protein with 1kg of plant-based protein, or a petrol car with an electric car. It is created to understand these complex relationships and is a visual model that, among other things, can help you identify goal conflicts and thus exists to create discussion and map different interests and its relationship between resource extraction, climate and biodiversity.
